What type of funerals do you offer?

All types – Simple (low cost), Traditional, Bespoke (horse-drawn, motorcycle etc), as well as Direct Cremation (with no service).

Do you help to arrange non-religious funeral services?

We regularly arrange non-religious, Humanist or New Age funerals.

What options are available for personalisation, such as flowers, music, or themed services?

A wide range of options include: flowers in the shape of pets or items dear to your loved one; any style of music can be supplied, including live musicians – bands, bagpipes etc. Themed services can include motorcycle or lorry hearse, horse-drawn hearse, vintage era or other speciality interest.

Can you accommodate specific religious or cultural customs?

Yes, we are happy and willing to accommodate specific cultural and religious requirements – such as Muslim, Chinese and Traveller traditions.

What to do when a loved one dies at home?

If the death was expected, in the first instance you should call your loved one’s GP. Should your loved one’s death happen outside of the GP’s operational hours, you should revert to calling the NHS on 111 (available 24/7). Once the cause of death has been established, the doctor will certify the death, at this point funeral providers can bring your loved one into care.

What to do when a loved one dies in the hospital?

The hospital staff will contact the next of kin or a close relative. Following being informed of your loved one’s death, your loved one will be moved to the hospital’s mortuary. At this point, your funeral director can arrange for your loved one to be taken into their care. If the death was unexpected, a coroner’s investigation may be required.

What should I do in the event of an unexpected death?

If a loved one has experienced an unexpected death, it is advisable that you contact the police immediately, who will handle proceedings and advise on the next steps.

If the ambulance has already attended, then they would normally call the Police for you. The Police report to the coroner’s office who will then speak to the family once they have established the circumstances. In some instances, the doctor may need to refer the death to the coroner’s office.

What to do when a loved one dies in a care setting?

The death would need to be certified by a GP or appropriate medical professional. Care staff are trained to ensure your loved one is appropriately cared for in the event of their passing. Care professionals should move your loved one to a private space until your funeral provider can take your loved one into care. If the death was unexpected, a coroner’s investigation may be required.
